Explore the properties of the elements, the standard amino acids, and the nucleobases with The Chemical Touch. A touch sensitive periodic table and chemical information companion, it provides a wealth of information right at your fingertips. Recolor the periodic table by selecting properties other than Atomic Mass to visually investigate periodic trends. Having exhausted the built-in information, the internet button opens the Wikipedia page for the selected element, amino acid, or nucleobase.
A quick guide detailing all the features is available for download at the application website.
Pros and cons of The Chemical Touch app for iPhone and iPad
The Chemical Touch app good for
We need multitasking update and retina support but the app is fantastic !
This little program is well worth its money if you need a nice little periodic table.
The only way to make it better would be a way to enter additional data for the elements.
Since I do a lot of NMR-Work, the NMR frequencies of the NMR active isotopes and their magnetic spin would make this little app perfect for me.
Maybe pressing long on an element could bring up additional information (even a place to enter some own additional information would be great).
I think I will find this very useful since Im a chemical engineering student, it sure beats having to pull out a per. table or flipping to the cover of text book. I like how I can see what Im picking just like the keyboard when you type. This a very helpful app.
Thanks, I love it.
A great program! The one problem is that they should be in trans formation. Other then that it is nice to see a quick reference just in case I have forgotten one. I would like to see and update for the rotation problem.
If it integrated flash cards for the AA and the elements , then I would say wow
This is a great application!! I would only add the ionazation energy and electron affinities for the elements! Nonetheless its a really useful app!
Some bad moments
I certainly think that this is a really great idea for an application. However, as a biochemistry/biophysics grad student, I am very bothered by the fact that the backbones of your amino acids are in cis conformations, instead of trans!
I really hope you will fix this as it is incorrect. Thanks! Looking forward to new updates in the future!
This was recommended to me in an email from iTunes. Since it said was for iPad I just assumed it was an iPad app, which it clearly is not. I would have much rather saved my money for a periodic table that was actually designed for the iPad. Of course there appear to be several. So this one was just a waste of money. This is the first time I have had buyers remorse over 99 cents.
No updates in 2 years. The interface was clunky then and is still clunky. Ive moved on to EleMints, although its currently missing some isotope data.
To the dev: if the interface is rewritten, could you please not hide the status bar? I use that area for gestures, for example to quickly close the app.
